Since May 2006 Arne Bongenaar has been the Managing Director and co-owner of ACTEEUM Group, a privately owned real estate development and asset management group of companies, which works for professional investors in emerging markets. Its focus is on retail real estate projects in Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia, with a total investment value of over €1 billion. Atrium European Real Estate Ltd. and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are the major investors. They've also entered into a cooperation agreement with Corio NV for the development of retail real estate in Turkey. From 1999–2004 Arne managed Ahold Real Estate Central Europe, developing 12 shopping centers in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. From 2004 until 2006 Arne was Sales Director for Multi Development Corporation, being responsible for their Central European and Turkish shopping center portfolio. Arne is an urban geographer and holds a doctor's degree in urban development and public private partnerships.
